New Client Manager joins our team

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Jo Wilson as our new Client Manager. Jo is now the main in-house point of contact for everyone who is buying a Wemyss property.

Jo takes buyers through all stages of the buying process, from reservations through to completions and hand-overs. She also helps buyers make choices about the details of their new homes. To do this she welcomes them to our newly decorated West End office where she talks them through the choices they have for elements such as colour schemes and the fittings and finishes of bathrooms and kitchens.

“In my first few months at Wemyss, I have already been able to help a number of clients shape how their new homes will look and function,” Jo says. “I look forward to helping many more in the future.”

In addition, Jo keeps buyers up to date with how the build on their new property is progressing and is there to resolve any issues that come up both during the build and after they have moved into their new homes.

Welcome to our redesigned website

As you’ll see as you explore this website, we’ve had a major redesign of our online presence. Our new website has been set up to allow us to tell you more about what we are doing and to display the high quality of our work to its full effect.

“Wemyss is all about developing bespoke homes that provide exceptional levels of quality and pride of ownership,” says Managing Director, Matthew Atton.

“We think that our new website expresses this commitment beautifully. It provides us with a great way to show everyone what we are doing and to promote our developments to the widest possible audience in the best possible way.”

The new website has been optimised for mobile and tablet devices and will provide a seamless online experience for anyone on the move as well as for those browsing from the comfort of their own home.

“This redesign was a chance to bring the website up to date, to mirror the quality of the properties that Wemyss create and to support its aims to deliver a high standard of customer service,” says David Arneil, Creative Director at H&A, the agency that has developed the new website.“It provides a much better platform for their imagery – and therefore a much better way for people to understand the company’s unique strengths, capabilities and expertise.”

Looking to the future

In line with our commitment to develop quality homes in sought-after locations, we are actively in negotiations to secure a number of additional development opportunities in Scotland’s two main cities. These include potential sites in Morningside and Craigleith in Edinburgh and in the West End in Glasgow.

“We pride ourselves on our expertise in identifying and securing properties and development opportunities in the most desirable locations,” says our Development Manager, David Durie.

“We only select developments that have the potential to offer quality homes that will appeal to the discerning homebuyer. We are therefore very excited about these future sites in Scotland’s capital and its largest city.”

”We are, of course, always on the lookout for potential developments that might fit in with our portfolio of exceptional refurbishment and new build developments,” adds David. “So I’d like to ask anyone who has an appropriate piece of land or property that they believe may have development potential to get in touch. We are a highly-experienced and professional team and will maximise the potential of any site that meets our criteria.”

David can be contacted at, 0131 225 9305 or via LinkedIn.

Wemyss Properties signs off for 2014

After an exciting 2014, which has seen the completion and sale of a number of exceptional new developments in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Wemyss Properties wishes all its customers, clients and associates a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Everyone in the company is now looking forward to an equally successful 2015.

“The success of our Polwarth Terrace development in Edinburgh and the equally strong showing of Woodside Terrace in Glasgow, has meant that we leave 2014 in excellent shape and optimistic for the future,” says Managing Director Matthew Atton.

“We are already moving ahead with new developments in both cities – Lyndoch Street, in Glasgow, and Newbattle Terrace, in Edinburgh – and we are confident that these will be just as popular.”

For Matthew the continual strong development of the company’s portfolio confirms the strength of Wemyss Properties’ business strategy and shows that its direction of travel is the right one.

“The enthusiasm that buyers in Edinburgh and Glasgow have shown for our developments – both in terms of their design and their locations – indicates that we there is a real demand for new homes of the type we build,” says Matthew. “We aim to continue to meet this demand in the months and years to come.”
