The team
Wemyss Properties takes great pride in the level of customer service it provides. We go the extra mile to make sure that you get the home you want. This dedication and commitment comes from the expertise of our managers and staff, many of whom have been with the company for many years.
The company also has a board of directors that provide the knowledge and experience to guide the development of the company. This group of experts ensures that Wemyss Properties expands and develops as an independent and profitable organisation; one that responds to changes in the property market and continues to meet its customers’ needs.
William Wemyss
Chairman
William returned to Scotland in 2002 having spent a number of years in London, first as an institutional stockbrocker before completing an MBA and then establishing and running his own digital marketing business. He is now Chairman of Wemyss Properties and its parent company, The Wemyss Development Company. William has used his experience in modern business management and his IT expertise to position Wemyss Properties as a respected and competitive business in Scotland’s property market.
William has a clear vision for Wemyss Properties as a company that delivers high quality, bespoke architect-led designs, rather than a company that just concentrates on the volume of houses it builds. In this way William has successfully built up a portfolio of residential development sites in prominent locations in Fife, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders.
Isabella Wemyss
Director
Isabella is a qualified solicitor and a director of Wemyss Properties and its parent organisation, the Wemyss Development Company. Isabella works across the company’s varied concerns. Using her expertise, she has the responsibility for instruction and liaising with our Lawyers on all legal matters.
Matthew Atton
Commercial Manager
Matthew joined Wemyss Properties as Commercial Manager at the beginning of 2008. He was previously with a national firm of Chartered Surveyors. Matthew qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2000, and a significant proportion of his early career focussed on rural based surveying. During the time leading up to his joining Wemyss Properties, his professional focus centred on development related work, in particular residential development.
Matthew prides himself on his eye for and attention to detail, as well his wide-ranging professional experience. Matthew’s vision for Wemyss Properties is clear - to ensure continuity as it expands and to establish its reputation as a company that always delivers high quality homes, in high quality locations, at the correct price.
John Whiteford
Clerk of Works
John has worked for the Wemyss family for over 20 years and specifically for Wemyss Properties Limited for over 16 years. Over these years he has overseen a wide variety of projects, ranging from work on listed historic landmarks through to the day-to-day management of residential development sites.
John joined the Wemyss family from the Royal Navy. In his naval career he travelled to many different areas of the world and faced numerous testing situations. It is therefore no surprise that, when working for Wemyss Properties, John is able to find solutions to any challenge he faces. John’s leadership and expertise is reflected in his attention to detail and his ability to motivate a site and get jobs done effectively and efficiently.
