As a family firm with a long and proud history in property development, we take a carefully considered approach to everything we do...
Expertise and Experience
...and what we do is build and develop bespoke homes for the most discerning of buyers.
Thanks to our long history, we have the expertise and experience to search out and secure the most desirable of addresses and to develop new homes that maximise the potential of their locations. When it comes to restoring heritage properties, we aim to create homes that retain the integrity of their original architecture.

We are driven by a commitment to achieve the highest of standards in both our new build developments and restoration projects; but more than this, we also aim to create properties that are the best of their type, and to offer homes where everything feels ‘just right’. With Wemyss you’ll enjoy the pleasure of ownership that comes from knowing that you have something tailor-made and unique.
A Proud History in Property
The history of Wemyss Properties is a fascinating one and can be traced as far back as the fifteen century, when the Wemyss family was involved in the coal mining industry in Fife. Over the years, the family built a strong reputation for the high quality of the housing they provided for their miners. Today this can be seen in the village of Coaltown of Wemyss – a ground-breaking community that had close links with the world-famous Garden City Movement.
The company has long owned and managed a stock of residential housing in the Kirkcaldy area of Fife. In the new millennium, Wemyss Properties Ltd. expanded into house building, first through the extensive refurbishment of the properties it owned and then by moving on to new build and the sympathetic conversion of rural steadings and historic properties in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
